Judy A. Clausen
Judy A. Clausen is Of Counsel to Murphy & Anderson. She handles matters involving business disputes, professional liability, finance agreement disputes, and non-compete and non-solicitation litigation. Ms. Clausen is an Assistant Professor of Law at Florida Coastal School of Law where she teaches classes in contracts and criminal law.
Ms. Clausen is a member of the Florida Bar. Prior to joining Murphy & Anderson, she was an Associate General Counsel at the University of North Florida where she negotiated and prepared the university's business and educational contracts, advised university administration concerning First Amendment and privacy law issues, and oversaw and managed the university's tort litigation. Before assuming her position with the University of North Florida, Ms. Clausen was a Senior Attorney with the Government Accountability Office where she advised the US Comptroller General and Congressional staffers regarding constitutional, statutory, and executive branch policy issues in the areas of national security, counterterrorism, and counterdrug operations and investigations, defense contracts and fiscal law, and Internet privacy and security. She was a Fulbright scholar in the Netherlands where she researched European privacy law. She served as Assistant to the Army General Counsel where she advised the Secretary of the Army and Army leadership concerning national security, counterterrorism, and privacy legal and policy issues.
Ms. Clausen earned her Bachelor’s Degree, cum laude, from Georgetown University and her law degree, with high honors, order of the coif, from the University of Florida. While a student at the University of Florida College of Law, she served as Associate Notes and Comments Editor of the Law Review as well as a research assistant for her constitutional law and jurisprudence professors.
